University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC) is affiliated to the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna (HNB) Garhwal University, Srinagar. University Grants Commission (UGC) has introduced the scheme of University Science Instrumentation Centres (USICs) in the various universities including HNB Garhwal University, Srinagar, Uttarakhand, in order to provied modern instruments, appropriate facilities and technicians for higher educational system

Academic Programme University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC) 

An AICTE approved four year (8-Semester) B.Tech. Degree Course in Instrumentation Engineering is being run in the 
USIC since academic session 2000-2001. Intake for the course in Ist year is 25.
 
Intake Capacity University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC)

This year the University has offered 25 admissions in the Ist year B.Tech. Degree course of Instrumentation Engg. through Central Counseling being conducted at the College of Technology, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar.

• Reporting and registration : First week of August
• Classes commencement : First week of August
• Fee deposition : By 25th August
• Sessional Examinations : First week of October
• Examination form submissions : Third week of October
• End Semester practical examinations : First week of December
• End Semester Theory Examinations : Second fortnight of December
• Semester Break : January

Spring Semester

• Reporting and registration : First week of February
• Classes commencement : First week of February
• Fee deposition : By 15th February
• Sessional Examinations : First week of April
• Examination form submissions : Third week of April
• End Semester practical examinations : First week of June

 Facilities in Garhwal University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC) 

• The Centre has its own newly constructed building at Chauras campus.
• It has well furnished laboratories and workshops.
• The Centre has well experienced faculty members who are exposed to current state-of-art and are imparting the education to the students in some advanced area of instrumentation Engineering besides core subjects.
• The Centre has a well equipped Computer lab with Internet facilities.
• The Centre also has modern teaching aids like LCD projector, etc.
• The Centre has its own library having over 2000 text and reference books, journals and periodicals related with the subject.

Seminars and Workshops University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC) 

• Organized a Two Week training program for university/ college teachers/ technicians on 'Electronic & Analytical Instruments', jointly with WRIC, Mumbai at USIC, HNB Garhwal University, Srinagar (Garhwal), May, 1997.
• Organized a short term training program for university/ college teachers/ technicians on 'Microprocessors and Interfacing Applications', jointly with WRIC, Mumbai at USIC, HNB Garhwal University, Srinagar (Garhwal), May-June, 2000.
