GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology (GBPUAT) was setup in 1960 under UP State Act on 15,000 acre Campus; the University has six outstation research centers at Ranichari, Daurala, Nagina, Majhera, Bullandshehar, and Pauri. GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology (GBPUAT) is located in Pantnagar, Udham Singh Nagar District of Uttarakhand. This university is popularly known as Pantnagar University as well.

 Admissions in GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology:

 All admissions in the GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology shall be made strictly on merit as determined on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the Competitive Entrance Examination to be conducted by the University, except the following:

Admissions to B.Tech. programmes shall be made through an Entrance Examination conducted by CBSE.

Admissions to Masters’ programme in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology shall be made through the entrance examination conducted by J.N.U., New Delhi.

Admission to Masters’ programmes in MBA/ MBA (Agribusiness)/MBA (FRSC) shall be made through CAT score, Group Discussion and Interview conducted by the University.

Admissions to M.Tech. programmes shall be made through GATE examination. The Inter-se-merit of GATE fellowship holders shall be determined based on GATE score. However, admission towards seats for Other State candidates in M.Tech. Agriculture Engineering majors shall be made through Entrance Examination conducted by ICAR.

Admission to MCA programme shall be made on the basis of Entrance Test conducted by University Admission Committee.

Admission to College of Technology is made through All India Engineering Entrance Exam conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and subsequent counseling by Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun.

Some of the Facilities available in the GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology campus are:

Hostel Facility: About 3000 students are lodged in 22 hostels each of which is provided with Cafeteria, Common rooms with color TV, Hostel Library, Music Room, Indoor games, Outdoor courts for basketball, badminton, volleyball and tennis and Incoming telephone service. The food services in each hostel is on no profit no loss basis and is run by cooperative management through a students' food committee.

Library: Pant University have a well equipped library with 3,18,947 books and 1,200 subscribed periodicals, with an annual budget of about Rs. 32 lakhs.

Medical Facilities: The University has a well equipped Hospital which is easily accessible to all the people of the university. Services of ayurvedic and homeopahtic doctors is also available in the campus.

Indoor ward facilities: The University hospital has indoor facilities on the male as well as female wings where the University students are kept under observation for a short period. Those needing prolonged hospitalization are referred to Clara Swain Hospital, Bareilly for the needful as per University rules. Emergency services are available round the clock.

Investigation facilities: The facility of pathological investigation as well as X-ray is available at the University hospital/College of Veterinary Science.

Ambulance facilities: Facilities of an ambulance is also available for transportation of seriously ill students from their hostel to the Hospital on the request of warden concerned and for transportation to an outside hospital, if necessary.

Prophylactic Measures: Immunization and vaccinations are performed every Saturday, D.D.T. spray is arranged during the summers, through the team from the Malaria department.

Shopping Centers: The campus has a well developed main marketing center and three small marketing centers adjacent to the residential areas in the campus.

Guest Houses: The University has two well equipped guest houses International Guest House and Lambert Square Guest House (Fully Air Conditioned).

Schools: The University campus has three intermediate schools (including one English medium school) and seven primary schools to cater to the needs of different localities.

Residential Colonies: The University has a large number of quarters for the employees in the campus itself. Also, there are a number of labour colonies in different blocks of the university farm.

Welfare Centers: Five community centers are available at different locations to organize social and family celebrations of the campus.

Student Welfare: The department of student welfare coordinates all activities of students and arranges their stay on the campus.

Extra-Curricular Activities: Extra-Curricular activities such as literary, cultural, social, film, hobbies and N.C.C. etc. are organized through Sanskritik Chetna Parishad at University level and college wise through 9 professional societies, 4 activity clubs and 10 hobby clubs/projects besides hostel level activities. Arts and Crafts, Music, Dance, Folk Songs and Drama events besides other personality development professional competitions and contests.

Games and Sports : Games and sports activities are organised through 17 games & sports clubs. The University provides sufficient games and sports material to all the hostels as well as University level teams. Sufficient number of hostel games courts and central play grounds in addition to full fledged stadium, adequately equipped gymnasium, physical fitness centre and a swimming pool exist for athletic as well as sports and games events.
