Govind Ballabh Pant Engineering College (GBPEC) is an autonomous State Government Higher Technical Institution in Pauri Garhwal Uttarakhand. It was created in 1989 to honour the great Indian Freedom Fighter Padma Ratna Shri. Govind Ballabh Pant. The institute is located in Garhwal Himalayas, at a height of 1800m above Sea Level and overlooks the Great Himalayan Range. Though the institute is still in its infancy, its future is extremely bright. Currently, it provides under-graduate and graduate courses with the vision of providing Doctoral and Post-Doctoral education in the near future.

Govind Ballabh Pant Engineering College forms the Faculty of Engineering of the Hemwati Nandan Garhwal University, Srinagar and Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU), Dehradun. G. B. Pant Engineering College is located about 12 km from Pauri and is about 30 km away from Dev Prayag and 28 km away from Srinagar Garhwal. The principal of the college is an IAS officer who is also the DM of the Pauri district of uttrakhand.Retd. Colonel Virk was likely to join the college as principal in 1st week of January 2009.

10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Computer Science/Biology/Biotechnology as subjects.
Admission Process: Through AIEEE and counselling conducted by UTU, Dehradun in the month of July every year.

Eligibility Criteria for B. Tech. (Admission in IInd Year Engineering):
The Candidate should have passed Diploma Course in Engineering / Technology of three year duration or more from state Board of Technical Education or its equivalent Diploma Examination.

Graduation in any stream with Mathematics in 10 + 2

The Institution currently has eight departments: five in Engineering and three in Sciences and Applied Sciences.

Hostels: The College being a Fully Residential College requires every student to live in hostel.

There are 2 hostels for girls - Raman Girls Hostel and Alaknanda Girls hostel.
