The IIM Kashipur (Indian Institute of Management Kashipur) is among the youngest IIM institutes setup in the country. IIM Kashipur commenced operations from July 2011 under the mentorship of IIM Lucknow. The institute offers Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM), a two year full time residential programme. The rigorous curriculum seeks to instil a passion for knowledge and ability to apply that knowledge to real life scenarios. The programme lays emphasis on all-round personality development and inculcates the values of leadership and integrity.

The institute is located in one of the most densely industrialized regions in the country with over 180 industries having plants in and around the region and many more lining up. This places the institute at a vantage point when it comes to ‘Learning by Doing’ via frequent industry interactions and live projects.

IIM Kashipur is the first IIM institute being setup in Uttarakhand state.
Spread over 200 acres, IIM Kashipur became operational in 2011 in a temporary campus located at Ganna Sansthan, Bazpur Road Kashipur (Udham Singh Nagar). Approx 200 acres of land in the Escorts Farm area of Kashipur, Uttarakhand have been allocated by the Government of Uttarakhand for IIM Kashipur’s new Campus. The applications for the first batch of students for 60 seats have been invited through its mentor institute IIM Lucknow.

Programmes offered by IIM Kashipur

PGP in Management: The PGP is designed to develop professional managers with the strong conceptual fundamentals and skills required to manage businesses of the future, while giving them the vision to determine what the future will be.This program is a two year, full time, residential program. The students meeting the program requirements are awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Management.

The PGP will prepare the students to take up multiple responsibilities and would energize them for the fast-track performance expected of them. The curriculum, by any standards, is rigorous. Assignments, live and simulated projects, periodic evaluations and demanding academic schedules ensure that the student develops skills in managing time and working efficiently and effectively.

Admission process at IIM Kashipur

The process that is being adopted for selecting the promising students for PGP (Post Graduate Programmes) at IIM Kashipur for the academic year 2013-12 involves two stages. Stage-I applies to all eligible candidates who have appeared for CAT examination to determine those qualifying candidates who will be called for Stage – II.

Sufficient number of candidates belonging to different categories is short-listed in Stage – I for meeting the Government of India norms on reservation.

The admission to the Post Graduate Programme offered by the institute is through the Common Admission Test and the Eligibility criteria are the same as those for CAT. For the year 2013, admissions for IIM Kashipur are being jointly conducted by IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Rohtak, IIM Kashipur, IIM Trichy and IIM Udaipur.

IIM Kashipur Campus

Encompassed by lush green fields, IIM Kashipur campus provides an ambience of tranquillity, while the state-of-the-art infrastructure facilitates their implementation. The institute has modernized classrooms equipped with facilities like audio and visual aids that enhance the learning experience. Besides, the institute has a conference room, library, computer centre, cafeteria and a well-equipped gym.

• Hostel: The hostel block is located 500 meters from the college and houses students in spacious single occupancy rooms. A common reading room is used by students for discussions, projects and other activities. The sports facilities in the hostel table tennis, carom, a volleyball court and a badminton court planned for the future.
• Library: The institute has a well-functioning library that supplements the regular academics and encourages students to dive deeper into their areas of interest. The library contains all the resources that are required by a management student.
• IT Infrastructure: The institute is equipped with up-to-date IT facilities that make it easier for students to access relevant information. A fully functional computer centre in the institute caters to the academic needs of the students. The institute and the hostel are networked through an extensive Wi-Fi network.

How to Reach IIM Kashipur

IIM Kashipur is located at about 220 km to the east of Delhi, Kashipur is connected to major cities by road and rail. The nearest airport at Pantnagar offers daily flights from Delhi and is located 72 km from Kashipur. From Delhi, NH-24 leads to Moradabad after which a 50 km stretch directs to Kashipur.IIM Kashipur is located on Bazpur Road, about 5 km from the railway station.
