Uttarakhand Mahotsav - 2010, Delhi Haat, Pitampura, New Delhi

The Uttarakhand Mahotsav organized by Uttarakhand Club on 3-4 April 2010 was greeted by thousands of visitors who flocked to Delhi Haat from all parts of the city.

The inauguration of the grand festival was marked by a tableau of famous Nanda Devi Raj Jaat Yatra followed by the auditions of Uttarakhand Musical Hunt show – Uttarakhand Idol. Hundreds of contestants appeared in the musical competition and presented Garhwali-Kumaoni songs to the panel of judges comprising Sh. Heera Singh Rana, Sh Birender Negi, Sh Harish Madhur, Sh Satender Negi & Smt Rekha Dhasmana Uniyal.

The musical melodies by Heera Singh Rana, Meena Rana, Rekha Dhasmana Uniyal, Gajendra Rana and Gautam Sundli mesmerized the crowd.

Uttarakhand Idol was the major attraction of Uttarakhand Mahotsav. Vidisha Lohani was crowned Uttarakhand Idol 2010, Vinayak Aswal – runner up and Aarti Singh – 2nd Runner Up.

Eminent dignitaries including Mr Harish Rawat (MoS, Labour and Employment), Mr Mohan Singh Bisht (MLA, Delhi Govt), Mr Surendra Jeena (President, KMVN), Shri Bhole ji Maharaj and Matashri Mangla ji marked their presence in the event.

Bhole ji Maharaj and Matashri Mangla ji generously donated Rs. 11 lakh to Uttarakhand Club to encourage their noble efforts for the promotion of Uttarakhandi Culture and promoting their activities for the welfare of women & children in Uttarakhand.

Uttarakhand Club also conferred Uttarakhand Vishist Samman and Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman to recognise the individual achievements of the Uttarakhandis. Dr. A.R. Joshi ( renowned doctor and freedom fighter) and powerlifter Jeevan Singh were awarded Uttarakhand Vishist Samman and eminent drama writer, social activist, former editor of Doordarsh Rajendra Dhasmana was conferred Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman.

eUttaranchal also participated in Uttarakhand Mahostsav as online media partner with Uttarakhand Club. The interactive stall of eUttaranchal at Uttarakhand Mahotsav fascinated the crowd with eUttaranchal Quiz, Free Photo Shoot, Uttarakhand Travel assistance and onspot registration for Uttarakhand Matrimonial.
