ShikhaSundriyal

hello to everyone,

first of all let me tell you all that it's such a great feeling to see how people from Uttaranchal are coming forward to try & make a change through socila networking, after all most of us are located & spread around the country (and around the world in many cases).
this is a really nice thought of bringing us all together and make some changes happen, in our own possible ways.

but then, after going through the forum, i'm a little disappointed to see that only hollow blabbering has been happening so far.. the posts are so irregular, the topics sound very unrealistics at times.

therefore, i would like to request one & all to come up with some kind of information, views or any kind of latest observation/happenings related to uttaranchal. and try & stay as active and regular as possible!

next, can anyone please update me with what all activities/initiations etc. has been organized so far ? what were the issues handled and do we do any kind of monitoring or follow-ups of these activities??

guys, let me make this very-very clear, that we are not here to "chit-chat" away to our glories. of course alil fun-chat once in a while, knowing about each other are harmless, but then we have gathered here to make our voices heard, to make 'some' changes happen in the first place..

so can anyone help me out ?????

[P.S. the site is really nice. simple yet very informative. the info. is also very good. nice work :) kudos to the moderator! ]

Dear madame,
As u have mentioned we are spread far and wide. This is just a medium to stage our views on the subjects, and how we can make a change. For a start , sponser a childs one year fee at your native place whose parents can't afford or else encourage the neighbourhood guy to take the medical coaching and u are going to provide some of the key books. At a later stage the members can form various chapters ... can regulary meet and decide the things to be done to make the chages visible.

Dear Shikha,

I am very much enthused with your level of concern for Uttaranchal. You are concerned about what must have been done by now,is whether monitored or not. You also recognize that this forum is not for time pass or chit chat .But dear can you tell us whether your post is more than a chit chat or time pass?. Is it not an attempt to bully others by asking others to let you know what has happened is monitored or not. It is something like asking others without authority to do everything, but without taking any responsibility.
What suggestion have you given as regards the programmes and policies needed for the improvement of Uttaranchal ?. More important is what have you done for it more than asking others as if others are accountable to answer you.
We want to know actually what can you do for Uttaranchal and what are your suggestions to improve it. Simply releasing flimsy questions to get yourself recognized is not the objective of the forum.
Come out with some concrete ideas and programmes which you think are needed to be implemented for the betterment of Uttaranchal nd it's people and also that in the scheme of the things where do you fit in?.

Thanks & regards

Dear Sir,
Your views echo the voices of thousands. You very categorically suggested the real thing. We, at the moment, need some concrete ideas and programmes. Please suggest your ideas more openly so that some concrete steps can be taken to achieve those goals.
Regards

Dear Shikha,

Thanks for taking my remarks sportingly.

Since I have been associated with this forum, I have tried to raise issues which as per me were relevant and opportune .If you read “Pahari mother” you will find “in what state the Pahari mothers were and what is needed to be done as regards improving their condition”.
I have raised the problem of knowledge of English of Pahari youth when they step out in pursuit of their careers.
I have written about the problem of Drinking among our people in Uttaranchal.

I have written about the conditions non smokers, ladies and children during bus travel undergo when some irresponsible people without caring about anybody, resort to smoking inside the running buses with great contempt and impunity.

I have also written about “Matrimonial malaise” which calls for an immediate attitudinal change about the method of fixing marriages of our daughters and sisters.

I have written about “Uttaranchali culture” and raised issues pertaining to it.

I have also tried to write about the urbanization and issues pertaining to environment. And also the issue of Capital of Uttaranchal which is put in the cold storage by the successive governments for this or that excuse for political opportunism.

I have tried to tinker with the concept of repayment By writing about “Repayment”. I have tried to emphasize “if others who are capable and willing can do for their Almamater then why can’t the Uttaranchali do for their own state? The post was written in April 2008 but there is not a single commitment nor even any remarks on the post.

You can imagine the state of participation of Uttaranchali Youth . Even I have suggested to the web managers to introduce Devnagari as the medium of Participation so that to encourage more and more youth to this web site so that the level of interaction and participation may probably go up by the use of their own vernacular.

But it seems no-one is interested nor even bothered to touch posts when it calls them for doing something.

Therefore It is up to you youth, now to do something which will motivate other Pahari youth too to bring out their hearts with respect to suggestions needful to affect positive changes among themselves for the ultimate benefit of their motherland..

Thanks & Regards

Dayadhar Sharma.

Hey guys...

first of all my apologies, yet again, for vanishing for sooo long...i have got my reasons for that... cnt go on explaining of what exactly they were, but were strong enough for me to go completely blank and inaccessible....anyway as of now really sorry for the inconvenience caused :(

now now,, time for some clarification...with due respect to Mr. Dayadhar Sharma, i had no intentions what-so-ever of making any kind of filmsy statements just for the heck of instant recognition.. what i had asked was for the pure of getting a rough idea of how things have been done so far. which again would have, and has, given an idea of the leads that are already generated. since initiating things are the foremost steps to create a path for prospective efforts..

Never the less if i sounded authoritative by any means then i really regret of being misunderstood. and apologise for the same. but the fact is I dont preach what i cant practice...

that is the reason why i havnt suggested anything. because i know that is not the time when any kind of suggestion would be heard or be pondered over by anyone. so here are my suggestions, yes finally,
1. all the suggestions made by people in different topics are nice. some of them are even practical enough for immidiate application. But the need of the hour is not "what we should do there" but "what we need to do here" as in how can we come together (practically) and start organising things.
2. to be able to do something for our motherland, we need a better form of communication (yes i know i have already said that). since our presece in this forum is not enough for any kind of initiation or discussion on one-on-one basis. because we know not all of us are really interested in it, are we?
3. next thing will be to organize practical meetings, to discuss those suggestions made, and alligning them, authorising diff. people for diff. responsibilities.
4. arranging for funds, organizing trips to Uttaranchal will follow...
5. We can ask for interested volunteers to join us from here...but these things will happen in later stages...

So, that's the prob here. we are focusing on things which will happen in later stages (i.e. suggestions for the upliftment of Uttaranchal) but we forget of how do we get started..that is the first step as i have been saying: communication..

And yes Dayadhar i totally understand and agree with you that the level of particiaption is really low almost absent. and that is because people dont visit these forums regularly, and there are so many of them.. so i think we all should communication through some other way, lets say mails or something.. but how do we inform those interested people about it... now that's agian a prob...hmm....????

Nice to see so good replies and concern of you guyz. about our motherland ..thats good ..but may i know anyone got the conclusion...its like a debate is going on and the center point is missing....before going to a war its good to discuss but not good to debate...and its a war against all the things mention already by you guyz..
who will take the initative ?who will lead ? who will make startegy ?
without a good lead ( i am not saying lead in a politics way ) , without a good vision , without proper map ..hard to win any battle.

I think do Good where you are, in what ur doing , make proud your motherland ur parents...first motto is done.

Do keep visiting ur motherland time to time make a small charity club or so there to help ur own people in ur village ....start from your village ....

Come back paste your column here u have made such and such charity club there to help ur people....others will do too and if some one pass buy ur village can c how u r doing...and may b who knws they too do the same and come front too help u in there way ....atleast some one will start and holding that ray ..others will follow..

Much ado about nothing !, The whole topic is not making any sense.

Agree with Mr Sharma , some maverick member is hell bent to get noticed and savour the lime light .

There are many intense discussions in the forum which are still awaiting member's openions .

Action can wait, lets hear the rationale & openion on the topics .
