Uttaranchal Chief Minister said that the state is best in the E-Governance under ‘Arohi’ project in which 1541 schools had been provided with 8227 computers with nine districts already covered under DIET and remaining Champawat, Bageshwar, Uddhamsingh Nagar and Rudraprayag districts, the permission has been granted.
Speaking on ”Uttaranchal Govt Technology Awards 2004” ceremony, he further announced scholarship of 50 thousand rupees per year for 50 children belongong to BPL families and directed to increase the number to 100 children in the coming year. Mr Anshul Sonak, Education Program Manager, Intel-India, informed that according to the evaluation carried out under computer based education, Uttaranchal stands in the first position with 91 per cent success whereas national success percentage is 71.
For the best integration of technology in education one school and six teachers each from Garhwal and Kumaon region, seven students from Garhwal and six from Kumaon region and two student groups were honoured.
