Uttarakhand Governor Aziz Qureshi today greeted academicians on the eve of Teachers’ Day that marks the birth anniversary of the country’s second President, noted teacher and thinker Dr Radhakrishnan.
Congratulating teachers of Uttarakhand honoured with the President’s award for their contribution in the field of education, Qureshi said in this age of infomation technology, the role of teachers had become more challenging as now it was their responsibility to encourage students to follow their creativity and original ideas.
“Inculcating values like patience, discipline, sensitivity and compassion in their students is a very important part of a teacher’s work,” he said.
