A new Indian regional TV news channel for Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand will be unveiled on air by the Best News Company on 1 May.
The channel, Samachar Plus, will be based in Noida with bureaux in Lucknow and Dehradun. Initially targeting audiences in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, Best News Company then plans to expand its operation to Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar. Ultimately the channel will also reach viewers in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi-NCR, reports Exchange4Media.
“We are penetrating into these regions with positive journalism in an attempt to become the voice of the people,” said Amitabh Agnihotry, managing editor, Samachar Plus.
