Reliance Infocomm will provide mobile and wireless internet connectivity in 144 towns and over 3800 villages in Uttaranchal under its phase II network roll out. The temple townships of Badrinath and Kedarnath will also be covered, a senior company official said here today.
Executive Officer (UP & Uttaranchal circle) V V Singh claimed the phase II roll-out, expected to be complete by December 2005, would be the “biggest ever network expansion exercises undertaken in any hilly region in the country”.
“Apart from proving helpful to tourist pilgrims to Badri-Kedar, the inhabitants of Rudraprayag, Devprayag, Gangotri, Yamunotri and Srinagar (Garhwal) and adjoining areas also be benefitted”, Singh said.
