Uttarakhand HC to decide on Amarmani’s bail plea

Nainital: The Uttarakhand High Court will on Monday pronounce its decision on the bail application of former Samajwadi Party MLA Amarmani Tripathi, who is undergoing life term in jail in poetess Madhumita Shukla murder case.

Tripathi has in past made several attempts to get bail to be able to contest state assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

Amarmani Tripathi and his wife Madhumani and two others were convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment by a Dehra Dun court in 2007 for hatching a conspiracy and killing poetess Shukla in Lucknow in 2003.

After the investigation, it was found that the poetess was pregnant when she was murdered.
