Tehri villages under grip of viral fever: BJP

BJP today claimed that 36 villages of Tehri district in Uttarakhand are in the grip of viral fever and accused the government of not providing adequate medical aid to them.

“It is very shameful that the government has not sent any medical team to 36 villages where viral fever has been reported,” former chief minister B C Khanduri said here in a statement.

Khanduri’s comments came after a 3-year-old girl died of viral fever due to alleged lack of medical care in Tehri district.

Tehri Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Dinesh Joshi, however, denied reports that the girl died of lack of medical attention, saying she was never brought to a government hospital.
On the other hand, Khanduri accused the government of not providing medical care to the girl, who died yesterday at Pujar village in Tehri district.
