Uttarakhand Governor Aziz Qureshi today favoured setting up of ‘Chardham Development Authority’ for the development of holy shrines of Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath on the lines of Tirupati and Ajmer Sharif Dargah.
“To ensure the development of these shrines, I will appealed to the Centre to bring in a legislation for setting up Chardham Development Authority on the lines of Tirupati and Ajmer Sharif Dargah,” Qureshi, who was in the city to attend a function, said.
To boost tourism in the hill state, the Governor advocated developing new spots of tourist attraction other than Nainital, Mussoorie and Dehra Dun and promoting adventure sports like river rafting and mountaineering.
