DEHRADUN: The Uttarakhand government on Friday ordered Garhwal Commissioner to settle administrative and revenue-related issues from Pauri following a high court order.
Garhwal Divisional Commissioner Kunal Sharma has been asked to discharge his responsibilities from Pauri after a directive issued by a two-judge bench of Uttarakhand high court on Thursday evening.
The bench comprising Chief Justice Barin Ghosh and Justice U C Dhyani issued the order on a PIL filed by the president of Pauri Bar Association, Vinodanand Barthwal about two weeks ago.
The PIL stated that despite Sharma’s posting at Pauri, he chose to attend to administrative and revenue-related cases from Dehradun. This was having an impact on the working of Pauri Divisional headquarters.
