About Budher Caves

Budher is a place famous for its historic caves, Budher Caves. These caves are also well known by the name of Miola Caves as a German national, Miola discovered the caves. Budher caves are still unexplored due to unknown, difficult track. 

Legends believe that Budher caves were built by Pandavas of Mahabharat epic to escape when their castle was set on fire and it is beleived to be more than 150 kms in length during that time.

Budher Caves in Chakrata

Budher Caves are located at 3 km trek from FRH Budher till Miola Tibba. FRH Budher was originally constructed in the year 1868 and renovated in 2008. 

Miola Top/Meadow

Miola Tibba is a panoramic green meadow encircling an age old Lord Shiva temple provides an amazing experience. This temple is also famous as "Temple of Fairies". This meadow is at an height of 2590 mtrs and offers the magnificent view of the Himalayan ranges. Near the meadow, Budher Caves entrance are situated.

Budher Caves is located at 30 kms from Chakrata and one can reach here by trek only from FRH Budher. Hire taxi are available from Chakrata till FRH Budher. Nearest rail head to reach Budher Cave is Dehradun Railway Station (120 kms) and airport at Jolly Grant Airport (145 kms).
