Doonagiri: It is situated 33kms from Chaukhutia. A temple dedicated to Vaishno Devi is adorned by the locales in Doonagiri. Many myths bear testimony to this fact, according to which when Hanuman was carrying the Sanjiwani booty a piece fell here and since that day, this place is known as Doonagiri. Doonagiri affords a clear portrait of the imposing Himalayan Range. Doonagiri is flooded by tourists and devotees during Chait and Ashwin months of Navratras.

Jaurasi: Jaurasi is situated 16kms from Chaukhutia at an elevation of 6000ft above sea level. Jurasi is famous for scenic beauty. Tea Gardens, ayurvedic herbs and cultivation of herbs makes Jaurasi a popular and worth watching destination. 

Bageshwar: Bageshwar is situated 100kms from Chaukhutia and it is the new district headquarters and center of administration of Danapur. Bageshwar derives its name from Bagnath, a famous temple in this region dedicated to Lord Shiva. Every year, Bagnath attracts thousands of pilgrims from all over as it is believed that Lord Shiva wandered here as a tiger. It is located at the confluence of Saryu and Gomti rivers. The popular Uttarayani fair is held every year in January in Bageshwar. Bageshwar is also used as the base camp by trekkers for Pindari.

Nainital: It is situated at a distance of 113kms from Chaukhutia at an elevation of 1,938mts above sea level. Nainital is named after an eye shaped lake set amidst the mountains with thick alpine trees. Nainital is situated in the Kumaon region and is one of the 13 districts of Uttarakhand state. Nainital is given the epithet of “Lake District” because it dotted with five lakes Nainital, Bhimtal, Naukuchiatal, Khurpatal, Sattal. Nainital is a glistening pearl of the panoramic Himalayan Range blessed with spectacular natural splendors and varied flora and fauna. The lake is on its majestically height during the night time when the light of the houses, cottages and hotels situated on the mountains covering Nainital reflects upon it and makes the view invigorating. During night it feels like there’s a city underneath the stagnant water of Nainital. The perimeter of Nainital is approximately 3.5kms. Nainital is an ideal destination for families, honeymooners, poets and writers, nature lovers and adventure lovers as well.

Almora: Almora is famous for its magnificent beauty, panoramic view of the Himalayas, rich cultural heritage, exquisite wildlife, unique handicrafts and delicious cuisine. It is located at a height of 5,400ft above sea level and is spread across a 5-km ridge atop Kashaya Hill. The picturesque landscape of Almora attracts hundreds of tourists each year. Almora was developed by the Chand Rulers and then maintained and further developed by the British. It is known as the ‘Switzerland of India’ and the place has also been made famous by Swami Vivekananda who meditated in the region. It is situated 87kms from Chaukhutia.

Karnaprayag: Karnaprayag is situated at a distance of 72kms from Chaukhutia at an elevation of 788mts above sea level. It is situated on the confluence of Alaknanda River coming from Satopanth and Pindar River coming from Pindar Glacier in Kumaon. Karnaprayag is one of the five confluences of Alaknanda River where it meets with Pindar River. Karnaprayag has got a mythological connection as it is the place where Karna of Mahabharata worshipped Sun God to acquire impregnable shield and an ancient temple dedicated to Uma and Karna is also situated here. Swami Vivekananda also meditated here with his gurus. Karanprayag is the point where Garhwal region and Kumaon region meets as the Alaknanda River is coming from Garhwal region and Pindar River is coming from Kumaon region of Uttarakhand state. Karnaprayag is a storehouse of natural beauteousness with lush green mountains, white gushing river and scenic excursions.

Kausani: It is one of the most popular hill stations of Kumaon perched at an elevation of 1890mts above sea level. Situated 65kms from Chaukhutia, this charming hill resort set amidst several snow- capped peaks is endowed with extraordinary natural beauteousness. Mahatma Gandhi and was absolutely fascinated by the scenic grandeur of Kausani while a visit in year 1929. Sumitra Nandan Pant, a renowned Hindi poet was born in Kausani.
