Gabar Singh Memorial located in Chamba was built in the year 1925 to pay a tribute to the martyr Gabar Singh Negi. The brave soldier was the recipient of Victoria Cross and served as a rifleman in the famous Garhwal Rifles in 1913.
During the First World War, Gabar Singh Negi along with his battalion won the battle at Flanders, which was held against Germany.
