Maya Devi Temple is a popular ancient temple in Haridwar and one of Siddh Peeth located in Uttarakhand. Goddess Maya, who is believed to be an incarnation of Goddess Shakti, is the deity of Maya Devi Temple. As per mythology, here at Maya Devi Mandir heart and navel of Goddess Sati fell.
Previously Haridwar was known as Mayapuri as Goddess Maya is the diety of Haridwar. Maya Devi Temple also completes the trio of Siddh Peeths in Haridwar. Other two Siddh Peeths in Haridwar are Chandi Devi and Mansa Devi temples.
