Mukhba Village: Mukhwas or Mukhba village is situated only 1km from Harsil. Mukhwas is the home of Goddess Gangotri during winters because the Gangotri region is prone to heavy snowfall during winters. Devotees worship at Mukhwa village during winters when the doors of the Gangotri temple remain closed.
