Haridwar is a place where temples are located in every corner of the city. The town's name is an amalgamation of two words, Hari (meaning God) and Dwar (Gate). Some ancient temples in Haridwar attract devotees not only from the local places but also from outside due to its significance. Haridwar is well known for Kumbha Mela, which takes place every twelve years, and the Ardh Kumbh Mela, which takes place every six years and the Punjabi festival of Baisakhi, a harvest festival occurring every year in the month of April.

Chandi Devi Temple

This temple carries lots of consequences and it comes under one of the most important temples of goddess Durga in North India. There are two options to get to the holy temple - either you can enjoy a steep climb for the duration of 45 minutes or you can take help of the ropeway which can take you there in a couple of minutes.

It is an ancient temple that attracts people from both far and near due to its significance. Temple is dedicated to Mansa Devi, a form of Shakti (Power) it is located at the top of Bilwa Parvat (Hill).
 It is situated at bypass road, Haridwar. Walking requires a one and a half kilometer hike uphill. Tourist can also use ropeway. Ropeways are used to reach temples of Mata Mansa Devi and Mata Chandi Devi. The starting point of the ropeway or the pedestrian way is 2 Km from the Haridwar bus and railway station.

Daksha Maha Dev Temple

Maya Devi Temple

The Bharat Mata temple is a religious shrine, founded by Swami Satyamitranand Giri. This temple was inaugurated by Late Prime Minister, Smt Indira Gandhi, in the year 1983. Located in Sapt Sarovar near ashram at Haridwar, Bharat Mata Temple is a holy place of its own kind.

Neeleshwar Temple

It is another religious site in Haridwar. Neeleshwar Temple Haridwar is located just 500m from Har Ki Pauri near the Kushavarta Ghat. Neeleshwar Temple, dedicated to Hindu God Shiva, is a small but very old temple in Haridwar. A source stream of Ganga flows down near the temple and it is known as Neeldhara.

Mahamrityunjaya Temple

It is believed that reciting the Maha Mritunjaya Mantra is an auspicious and powerful method of self-realization. It helps in the removal of evil effects and gives freedom from all kinds of fears, illnesses, and negativity. This mantra is also famous as the Moksha Mantra of Lord Shiva, chanting of Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra is said to create divine vibrations that heal.

Jain Temple

It is a two-storied temple which is made up of the yellow stones brought from Jaisalmer. This temple is famous for its art design and the huge temple campus. The idol of Moolnayak Bhagwan Shri Chintamani Parshwanath is in the center hall. Bhagwan Shri Shantinath and Shri Neminath idols are also placed in the same hall.

The glasswork designed on the temple walls makes it a famous sightseer spot. Pawan Dham is distanced at 2 kilometers from the main town of Haridwar and about 3 km from Har-ki-Pauri. It is a modern temple with ancient values, neat & clean surroundings.

Shree Yantra Temple

The temple is situated just 300m from the DakshMandir, an ancient temple dedicated to Bhagwan Shankar. It is one of the most revered Shakti Upasna Kendra. The temple is visited by a large number of people every day. Big worshippers are held throughout Navratri in Chaitra (April) and Ashwin (October) months. Nightlong Jagran and special poojas are held on the occasion of Navratras.

There are not many temples of Anjana Devi (mother of Lord Hanuman) in India. The temple is situated near Chandi Devi Temple. Both temples are situated on the Shivalik Mountains and are 100 meters apart. You can get a view of holy river Ganges from the temple as well.

Sati Kund Temple

The Sati Kund located at Kankhal. The Kankhal region has a number of other mythological sites for travelers to visit. Sati Kund, which commemorated the death of Sati, is one of the most visited places here. The place finds its mention as Kanakhala in the holy scriptures of the Hindus including the Vayu Purana and the Mahabharata.
