Temples in Rishikesh

Temple is a place which is devoted to the worship of god. In Rishikesh every temple is famous for different reasons like Aarti, chanting of mantras and hawan. People come to temples for internal peace and positivity.

1. Raghunath Temple

It is the most important place in Rishikesh which is located near Triveni Ghat. According to the locals this is a place where confluence of three rivers, Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati takes place.

2. Hanuman Mandir

This mandir is located at Maya Kund in 1924. It was founded by Swami Ramdas alias Oriya Baba. Every Tuesday devotees use to come here and do the worship of Hanuman ji.

3. Parmarth Niketan Temple

Every evening people gather here for Ganga aarti. Parmarth Niketan is not only a spiritual heaven, but also provides education, training and health care to those in need. It is located at Sawargashram.

4. Bharat Mandir Rishikesh

It is situated half kilometer away from Triveni Ghat. According to historical evidences, Adi Guru Shankracharya, laid the foundation of Bharat Mandir in 12th Century. The temple has been named after Lord Ram’s second brother "Bharat".

5. Tera Manzil Temple

Tera Manzil Temple is popularly known as Trayambakeshwar Temple. It is enshrined with idols of different Hindu gods and goddesses. The temple provides the visitors with a beautiful view of the sunset from the top most floor of Tera Manzil Temple. It is located near Laxman Jhula bridge.

6. Triveni Ghat

At Triveni Ghat the Ganga River is joined here by Yamuna and the Saraswati. Pilgrims come here for a holy bath and rid themselves of their sins.

7. Veerbhadra Mandir

It is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located at Virbhadra Town near Rishikesh in Uttarakhand. Night long jagran and special pujas are held on the occasion of Shivratri & Sawaan at this temple. The mela coincides with the Mahashivratri festival.
