Brief: Chachandu is a famous traditional cuisine of Uttarakhand made with buttermilk and Jhangora (Barnyard Millet). Its very easy to cook.


  1. Jhangora – 2 cups
  2. Buttermilk – 600 ml


  1. Add Jhangora to boiling water and cook for 5 minutes
  2. Mix Buttermilk and cook for more minutes
  3. Serves with Gud (for sweetness) or Pahadi namak/ Dal.
