Meetha Bhat (Khaska)

Brief: Uttarakhand traditional sweet dish prepared from Pahari red rice (Lal Chawal).

Ingredients

  1. Pahadi Rice – 1 cup
  2. Coconut – 5-6 small long cut pieces
  3. Water – 1 1/2 cups
  4. Jaggery – 1/2 cup

Method

  1. Wash and soak rice for 20 minutes.
  2. Drain and keep it aside.
  3. Heat the water in a pan and add Jaggery.
  4. Cook the rice with Jaggery water and Coconut pieces.
