Uttarakhand, also known as Uttaranchal, is the 27th state of the Republic of India formed on 9th November 2000. Situated in the foothills of the western Himalayan range, Uttarakhand share International border of India with Tibet(China) and Nepal. Uttarakhand is divided into two divisions known as Garhwal Division and Kumaon Division.
Currently, Dehradun is the interim capital of Uttarakhand. The total numbers of districts in Uttarakhand are 13. The State Government of Uttarakhand is the supreme governing authority. It consists of an executive branch, led by the Governor of Uttarakhand, a judiciary branch, led by the Chief Justice of Uttarakhand and a legislative branch led by the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
