The road from Joshimath to Cliff Top Club Resort (17 km) is a steep climb from about 5000 feet to 10,000 feet above sea level. The steep gradient coupled with ice on the road makes it unfit for vehicles during winters. The road is motorable by sturdy 4-wheel vehicles up to the doorstep of the resort at other times of the year.
Auli is well connected by motorable roads with major destinations of Uttarakhand state. The nearest railhead to Clifftop Club Auli is Rishikesh. Rishikesh is situated on NH8 and it is well connected by major cities of India.
The nearest airport to Auli is Jolly Grant located in Dehradun district at a distance of 268 kms. Jolly Grant is a domestic airport connected mainly with flights from Delhi and Chandigarh.
Please call up Resort 2 Hours or before boarding Joshimath-Auli Ropeway/GMVN-Auli Chairlift. Bell Boys/Porters will be sent to pick up luggage.
Please ensure that Rishikesh-Joshimath 253 Km is all an uphill drive of App. 9 Hrs. Hence, leave Rishikesh max. by 6:30 early morning
Note: In winters (from December end till mid-March) the motor road from Joshimath to Auli is not operational due to heavy snowfall. The cable car is the only mode of transportation from Joshimath to Auli. The last trip of the cable car to the resort leaves Joshimath at 4 pm during winters and 5 pm during summers. Tourists must reach Joshimath before the last trip of the cable car. Tourists reaching late may have to stay in Joshimath overnight at their own expense. Guests visiting Clifftop Club have to alight at tower number eight of the cable car.
