Dehradun Schools which are ranked among India’s top 10 best schools

Dehradun schools were featured in the top 10 ranks in different categories in the 13th annual Education World India School Rankings (EWISR) survey conducted by Education World magazine in association with C Fore, Delhi.

This particular survey was conducted with data gathered by interview method from sample size of 12,213 educationists, principals, teachers, parents and senior school students in 28 cities and education hubs across India. The survey was conducted to rate the country’s Top 1,000 schools on 14 parameters of education excellence.

Ecole Globale Girls Boarding School, Dehradun

The EWISR 2019-20 rankings were released in Bengaluru in 2019. The survey ranks the country’s top 1,000 schools in 10 categories including Day: Co-ed, Boys and Girls, Day-cum-boarding, Boarding: Co-ed, Girls and Boys, International: Day, Day-cum-boarding and fully Residential. Moreover, Private Budget, Special Needs and Government schools are also ranked separately.

Among legacy Boarding Schools category, The Doon School, Dehradun was ranked number one nationally along with few other schools. In the International Schools category Woodstock School, Mussoorie (wholly residential) was ranked number one along with others.

According to EWISR 2019-20, various schools from Dehradun which made it to the top 10 positions include seven schools in the girls boarding school category, namely Unison World School and Ecole Globale International Girls School shared the third rank, Welham Girls school and Hopetown Girls School shared fourth position, Mussoorie International School was ranked fifth, Vantage hall Girls Residential School was ranked eighth, while Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School (Girls), Mussoorie was ranked ninth.

Among the boys boarding schools, The Doon School was ranked first, Welham Boys School second, St. George’s College, Mussoorie came third, Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School (Boys), Mussoorie, came seventh, while Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun was ranked eighth.

Among the co-ed boarding schools, Selaqui International School was ranked eighth while Kasiga School was ranked tenth. Among international residential schools, the Woodstock School, Mussoorie was ranked first in India.
parameters of educational excellence on which the schools were ranked includes academic reputation, competence of faculty, individual attention to students, leadership/management quality, life skills education and conflict management, co-curricular education, safety and hygiene, community service, internationalism, parental involvement, teacher welfare and development, value for money, sports education and infrastructure provision.
