Summerfield School is perhaps the only private public school in the country which has for the past 20 years taken care of the children of our brave men in uniform. The Bravehearts and Veerangana hostels for boys and girls house, besides civilians, about 100 sons and daughters of the martyred, disabled and serving and retired soldiers of the Indian Defence Services and Paramilitary forces.
Summerfield School is located is located on NH 123, 36km from Dehradun railway station. The river Yamuna, in all its sparkling glory, flows 1.5km from the school. The hill stations of Mussoorie and Chakrata are in close proximity.
Summerfield School was founded in 1987 in order to provide quality public school pattern education in rural area. The school proudly celebrates 25 years of its existence in 2012. 18 batches of class X students and 5 batches of class 12 students have passed out successfully bringing laurels to this institution. Students of Summerfield are doing well for themselves in the fields of Medicine, Engineering, Armed Forces, Industry and Services in India and abroad.
Admission Process in Summerfield School, Dehradun
In order to qualify for admission in Summerfield School, every student has to appear and pass the written test. In case child fails to qualify the written test, registration fee will not be refunded. Registration is no guarantee for admission. Admission is subject to availability of vacant seats in every class.
- Some seats are reserved for the children of our martyred, disabled, serving and retired soldiers in various classes, subject to availability at the start of the session.
- There is no reservation for the children of civilians. They will get admission if there is a vacancy in the desired class.
For Day Scholars
Day scholars are given a written test before the admission, which they have to pass.
The Summerfield School is an English medium, Senior Secondary, co-educational, residential and day school and is affiliated to the CBSE, New Delhi. Great emphasis is laid on classroom teaching which encourages brighter students to strive towards newer heights and the weaker ones to achieve the required academic standards.
The system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation- CCE has been adopted in its true spirit to enhance the aptitude, attitude and ability of every student. The student teacher ratio is 1:17 and average strength of each class is 35.
The school also provides 25% reservation to the underprivileged in the starter class as per the RTE 2009.
