The Maneri Dam is a concrete gravity dam built on the Bhagirathi River, located at Maneri about 8.5 km (5.3 mi) east of Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand. It is a run-of-the-river type dam which was completed and commissioned in 1984. Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited is the owner of this dam. The primary purpose of the dam is to divert water into a tunnel which feeds the 90 megawatts (120,000 hp) run-of-the-river Tiloth Power Plant. The basin area of this dam is river Ganga.
This dam was built with a purpose of generating hydroelectric power. The height of this dam is 39 metres (128 ft) and the length is 127 metres (417 ft). The structural volume of the dam is 13,700 m3 (17,919 cu yd) and the total capacity of the reservoir is 510,000 m3 (413 acre-ft). The nearest city is Bhatwari in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand.
