How is Gananath Fair celebrated?

On Gananath Fair, gamblers from the regions of Almora and Nainital would get together and play cards. At night, couples and ladies who wish to have children visit the temple and worship Lord Shiva. The ladies carry diyas in their hands and pray to Lord Shiva the whole night. However, restriction in gambling and advancement in medical treatments have led to the decline in both these traditions.
