Schools In Uttarakhand Reopen After 10 Months Due To Covid-19

After being closed for 10 months due to covid-19, Schools in Uttarakhand have been open on 08 Feb 2021. On the first day, on an average, more than 60 percent of the students reached the school.

According to Director of Education RK Kunwar, all students and teachers underwent thermal screening before admission to the school. Before that all schools were sanitized.

Thermal scanning and Sanitization before Admission

Students coming to school are allowed to enter the school only after handwash, sanitization and thermal scanning. It also has decided that the students should be allowed to enter the school only after wearing the mask.

Classes will leave different intervals 

As Social distancing has to be followed at the main gate at the time of admission and leave of school, it is also has been decided that the closing of different classes should be taken at different times, rather than leave all the students together.

More than 9000 schools opened 

More than 9000 schools have been opened in Uttarakhand from Class 6th to 12th. The number of upper primary government, non-government and private schools is 5452. While there are 1354 high schools and 2479 Intermediate colleges which open in Uttarakhand.

No Decision yet for Schools from Classes 1st to 5th 

Uttarakhand schools from Class 1 to 5 will remain closed. No decision has been taken yet to open these schools. Online classes for children of these schools will continue.
