The Department of Medical Education of Uttarakhand is a unit of Directorate of Medical, Health and Family Welfare Uttarakhand. The main objective of this department is to improving the health services in Uttarakhand.
It also helps in providing well trained, skilled, committed and energetic human resources along with a good infrastructure to the state.
Roles & Responsibilities of the Department
The roles and responsibilities are divided into two divisions i.e Nursing and Paramedical Division and the other one is Medical and Establishment Division.
Nursing and Paramedical Division
- It Conduct the entrance exam of various Nursing courses and then it conduct their counseling for government seats.
- Monitoring and approval of essentially certificate for New Nursing/Paramedical colleges.
- Work related to nursing and Paramedical Council’s.
- Answering the queries regarding Nursing and Paramedical
To monitor & solve the grievances of staff in Government Nursing college, Schools & ANMTC’s.
Medical and Establishment Division
- To conduct entrance examination of graduate and Post-Graduate Medical/Dental Courses and their counseling for government seats.
- All the work relating to 13th financial plan and central government sponsored schemes for development of nursing schools & colleges.
- Work relating to the Government & Private medical/dental colleges.
- Work relating to the subject of fee structure to be laid down from time to time of various institutions and fee related matters.
- All the work related to administration, establishment of the Directorate, development of service rules, division of cadre etc.
