Anyone can do this trek without any prior experience of trekking.

If you want to explore some unseen trails, this will be the best trek or place to start your journey. The maximum altitude of this trek is 14,000 ft above the sea level. Bhrigu Lake Short Itinerary

Day 1: Manali - Gulaba - Gulaba Meadows Camp
 Day 2: Gulaba to Rola Kholi
 Day 3: Rola Kholi - Bhrigu Lake - Rola Kholi
 Day 4: Rola Kholi to Gulaba drive to Manali
 Note: If we start early morning from Manali, then we can reach Rola Kholi on Day 1 only, thus this trek can be done in 2 Nights and 3 Days as well.

Best time to do this trek

Bhrigu Lake trek is only visited during the Summer and Autumn season because the trek is closed during the winters due to harsh temperatures. The best time to visit Bhrigu Lake Trek is between the month of May to October.

You can witness the snow almost throughout the year and also witness newly blossoming flowers beside the lake in the summertime. We suggest you visit Bhrigu Lake in the month of May or June to get the best experience. This is also the best season to visit as you can witness the greenery of the nearby valleys.

Mythology about Bhrigu Lake Trek

According to some legends, Bhrigu lake is said to be the sacred lake for the people of Hindu religion in Himachal Pradesh. They believed that Maharishi Bhrigu one of the Saptarishis, who visit Himalayan region and settled near the Bhrigu Lake for Meditation. Local people also believe that the lake doesnot freeze completely because the Maharishi Bhrigu meditated over there.

Apart from this there is another myth that local people believe. Ther believed that many rishis and Devtas of the Himalayas bathed at this heavenly place. It is also known as the “Pool of Gods”

Detailed Bhrigu Lake Trekking Route

Day 1: Manali - Gulaba - Gulaba Meadows Camp (Drive = 22 kms, Trek = 3 kms)
 Start your journey from Manali in the morning. Drive to Gulaba Road which is 22 kms from Manali. During the road journey you will cross the small towns with beautiful pine forests namely Kolang, Palchan and Kothi to reach Gulaba. Trek to Jonker or Gulaba Bugyal, which is around 3 kms from Gulaba Road. Night stay in camps.
 
Day 2: Gulaba Bugya - Rola Kholi (Trek = 5 kms)
Today it will be a steep climb from Gulaba Bugyal. You will pass through dense forests of oaks cedars. Your will be mesmerized by the surrounding beauty and vistas. After 20 minutes walk leaving behind forests and the green lush meadows will start unfolding

Once you cross the meadows, you will get to witness the peak of Hanuman Tibba and the famous seven sister’s peak. One cannot miss to watch the spell bounding valley of Beas Kund Next comes another slight jungle cover, passing which the trail falls on to the rugged meadows again.

The trek becomes narrower and steeper just before entering the grasslands of Rola Kholi. At about 15 to 20 minutes far from reaching the campsite, you will be cross two nallahs and streams.

Day 3: Rola Kholi - Bhrigu Lake - Rola Kholi (Trek = 10 kms)
Today you can start early morning as it will be long tedious trek to Bhrigu lake and you have to return back to Rola Kholi as well. It is advisable to start the trek early in the morning to have clear views and nice weather when you reach Bhrigu Lake.
 
Now meadow region will be over and you have to trek steep over rocky path. Rola Khuli will be covered in snow till June, it becomes difficult if you are trekking during the month of April and May. Once reaching the Bhrigu lake and spending some time there, we will return back to Rola Kholi.
 Note: Camping near Bhrigu Lake is now allowed, thus you have to return back to Rola Kholi.

Day 4: Rola Kholi to Gulaba drive to Manali (Trek = 3 kms, Drive = 22 kms)
After relaxed breakfast, you can trek down to Gulaba and start your drive to Manali.

Trekking Cost for Bhrigu Lake Trek

On an average any trekking company or tour operator will charge you around Rs 5000 to Rs 7500 per person for the trek from Manali to Manali. The price for the Bhrigu Lake trek depends on the group size, peak season time and services offered like quality of food, quality of camping and trekking gears, experience of guide.
