  • Kwality Restaurant, Dalhousie: Dalhousie, as an evergreen hill station, has no shortage of good restaurants. Kwality Restaurant on Gandhi Chowk is one of its oldest and most popular restaurants. The restaurant, which opened in 1972, serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even tea-time snacks.

    The place has an old-school vibe that will remind you of a classic Indian mountain vacation. They also offer vegan and gluten-free options. Chilli chicken, saag chicken, and sizzlers are popular dishes. Try their best-selling Himachali chicken, also known as Chai chicken, as listed above.

  • Indian Coffee House, Shimla: Shimla's iconic Indian Coffee House has hosted leading politicians, intellectuals, bureaucrats, and industry stalwarts. Its supporters range from India's first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the country's current Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

    On a sunny Saturday afternoon, the old-school establishment on Mall Road is ideal for a cup of hot coffee and some classic Indian snacks. Apart from coffee, they are well-known for their dosas and burgers. Their burger sauce is particularly noteworthy.

History of Himachal

With the implementation of the Indian Constitution on January 26, 1950, Himachal became a part C state. On November 1, 1956, Himachal Pradesh became a Union Territory.

Parliament passed the State of Himachal Pradesh Act on December 18, 1970, and the new state was established on January 25, 1971.

Mythology about Himachal

Himachal Pradesh is known as 'Dev Bhoomi,' which translates as 'the abode of the Gods.' The Pahari community here has their own local deity known as "Devtas." These Devtas are thought to be incarnations of Lord Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh.
