Bhuntar is a hilly town in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. It is also a doorway to famous hill stations, Manali, Kullu Valley, and Manikaran. Bhuntar has a quaint serenity to it and is considerable away from the maddening tourist crowds of the more famous places in Himachal Pradesh. There are a few temples and historical sites to see. This town has religious significance.

Kullu valley is 10  km away from Bhuntar. Bhuntar has a pleasant climate throughout the year. If you want to get away from the maddening crowd of most of the tourist places in Himachal Pradesh, you can visit Bhuntar for a weekend. Ideally, you can spend one day in Bhuntar, before heading to Kullu, Manali,  or other tourist places in Himachal Pradesh. Trekking and camping is a popular activity and it is possible at a few sites in Bhuntar. Newly wedded couples can choose Bhuntar as a honeymoon spot for its tranquil locations and peaceful climate.

Bhuntar is visited throughout the year. The best season to visit Bhuntar is the winter season. The temperature remains cool and comfortable and is apt for sightseeing. The best months to visit are October, November, December, February, and May.

It has its own Domestic Airport named Bhuntar Airport or Kullu Manali Airport. This Airport is well connected to many major cities like Dharamshala, Chandigarh, New Delhi, and Shimla. Bhuntar airport is currently not in service.
