How to reach Manali
By Road: Manali is well connected by road with Delhi, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Haridwar, Shimla, Dharamshala and Chamba. Deluxe, semi-deluxe, AC, Volvo buses ply regularly to these places. There is a popular overnight bus from Delhi ISBT to Manali.
The road journey from Delhi to Manali is about 550 km, and an advance booking of tickets in the AC/Volvo coaches is recommended, keeping in mind the distance and comfort.
Take an overnight bus from Delhi and you will reach Manali in 12 to 14 hours(approx 540 KMS). Tickets can be booked online from HPTDC and other online bus booking websites. You can also book car rentals to Manali from Delhi NCR.
Tip : Since Delhi Manali is a long journey most Volvo private buses leave Delhi between 5 pm and 6 pm. The last govt bus leaves at 8.30 pm from ISBT Kashmere Gate.
Manali to Delhi: Buses leave from Manali to Delhi between 4 and 5 p.m. Your tentative arrival at Delhi may be anywhere between 6 am and 10 am.
By Air: Nearest Airport is Bhuntar is 52 km away from Manali, is the nearest airport. Taxi services are available from Bhuntar to Manali. Bhuntar is well connected to Delhi by air.
By Rail: Broad gauge trains travel up to Pathankot, from where a narrow gauge train takes you to Joginder Nagar. The distance between Joginder Nagar and Manali has to be covered by road transport.
Nearest major Railway station is Ambala (350 kms) and Chandigarh (310 kms). You can get regular Volvo and Buses from Chandigarh to Manali in the evening. You can also take cab/taxi to Manali.
Parking in Manali: During peak seasons getting Car parking is tough task. Tourists can park their cars at the parking lot near Manali main market located very close from the Manali Mall Road
