Gauri Parbat Peak

Located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, Gauri Parbat, also spelled Ghori Parbat, is a mountain peak with an elevation of 6,708 meters. With a towering height of 22,000 feet, it was a popular destination for several mountaineering expeditions during 20th century. It lies within the Kamet group of mountains.

HISTORY
First ascent of Gauri Parbat was made on 18 August 1939, by a team comprising of Andre Roch, Fritz Steuri and David Zogg with the help of few Sherpas.

HOW TO REACH
The trek to Gauri Parbat commences from the holy town of Badrinath in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand.
