The 3rd Uttarakhand Spring Bird Fest is going to start on February 2015. The festival is predicted to be a crowd puller as myriad bird species from all over the state are going to showcase their beauty in the festival. The bird festival is going to take place at various destinations, in order to attract a large number of crowd from various places.

 The festival is going to be different from the previous year, as it will cover a large number of places which in case will bring a lot of visitors.The bird festival will bloom in splendour for a week which will begin on February 04 and continue till February 11. The first bird festival took place on February 11, 2014 at Asan and the second was held at Pawalgarh Conservation Reserve this February. This year the bird festival is determined to spread its wings at all four destinations.

Promotional Activities

The officials are hoping, the new destinations will emerge as popular birding sites. The forest department aims at promoting all four new destinations. Thano located near Jolly Grant Airport is being promoted as a destination which is close to the naturally enclosed environs of Dehradun, Rishikesh and Haridwar.


Destinations of The Third Uttarakhand Spring Bird Fest 2016

In order to attract the attention of a large number of visitors the bird festival will held at various places. The destinations includes some of the widely known places of Uttarakhand such as Asan Conservation Reserve, Jhilmi Jheel Conservation Reserve, Thano Reserve Forest, Forest Research Institute (FRI) and Rajaji Tiger Reserve.

About the Various Destinations and Bird Fest at a Glance

Forest Research Institute popularly known as FRI attracts a large number of visitors because of its lavish vistas. By hosting bird festival it will draw the attention of a large number of visitors thereby, making the festival a massive hit. Rajaji Tiger Reserve which is famous for tigers and Asiatic elephants fails to attract the attention of the visitors towards hundreds of bird species that are found in this area. Jhilmil Jheel which is famous for its population of swamp deer is also not much publicised. Therefore, it attracts very less visitors and is not prepared for accommodating tourists.By launching the bird fest the bird species which are being un-noticed will get a chance to attract the visitors attention which will also help in conservation of the Himalayan birds. The fest will not only floursih tourism in Uttarakhand but it will also boast of the beautiful bird species that are found here.
