Auli, Uttarakhand is ready to host National Junior Skiing Championship with the onset of snowfall. A National Level Skiing Championship will be organised from 19 Feb to 22 Feb in Auli.
More than 150 skiers is going to participate in the national championship in Junior and Sub-Junior categories. Most of the participants are from Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and privates clubs.
Eligibility for Participation in National Junior Skiing Championship, Auli
- Participants must not be older than 16 years.
- Participants should be a master in performing skiing disciplines like cross-country, slalom, giant slalom and super giant slalom (or super-G). All the techniques involve skiing between sets of poles (gates) spaced at varying distances.
Winter Carnival 2017, Auli (Joshimath)
Along with National Junior Skiing Championship, Joshimath will host Winter Carnival at Gandhi Ground from 19-22 Feb 2017. The carnival will organise various musical, cultural, dance and other competitions and programs.
