Room Information

There are two cottages in the Mary Budden Estate with all the modern facilities and amenties to make your stay comfortable.

-Mary Budden Cottage: Each room is kept warm by a fireplace or bukhari. Staff is available to prepare & serve meals and provide other services. Budden Cottage is always warm and inviting. It can comfortably sleep six people plus two children in tastefully furnished rooms that are decorated in the spirit of elegant country living.

-Cosmos: One of the three bedrooms in Mary Budden Cottage, Cosmos has a fireplace and a beautiful bathroom enriched by its wooden flooring.

-Wisteria: The bedroom in the heart of the cottage is called Wisteria and has two large twin-size beds on either side of a fireplace. This room also has an ensuite bathroom and a cosy annexe which accommodates a spare bed.

-Wild Rose: Wild Rose bedroom, with an ensuite bathroom which has modern fittings and an ambience of luxury, further benefits from a charming annexe should there be need for an extra bed.

-Rhododenderon Cottage: An airy and romantic cottage with a spacious living room, cozy library and picture windows to bathe each room in sunlight. This beautiful, airy and romantic cottage has beautiful views and sits comfortably in the vicinity of Mary Budden Cottage. Rhododendron Cottage is named after the beautiful red Rhododendron flower that grows wild in the Binsar forest.

-Cherry Blossom: Cherry Blossom, one of the bedrooms in Rhododenderon cottage benefits from pinewood ceilings and an ensuite bathroom.

-Juniper
: Large picture windows adorn Juniper bedroom. The bedroom further benefits from an ensuite bathroom.

-Cedear suite: Sensitively furnished and decorated, Cedar Suite is cosy and also has an ensuite bathroom.

-Oak suite: Courting magnificient views of the Himalaya, Oak Suite sports pinewood ceilings, its own private living room and an ensuite bathroom.

Location

Mary Budden estate is located at an altitude of 8000 fts in Binsar, stretched on the 5 acres of serene land.

Getting There

By Train: The nearest railway station is at Kathgodam, 120 km away from Binsar. From here you can hire a taxi for the 4 hour drive through the hills to Binsar. Binsar is well connected by roads to all prominent towns: Almora (34 km), Nainital (120 km) and Delhi (418 km).

By Road: From Delhi you can take NH24 to Rampur via the Hapur and Moradabad bypasses, then NH87 to Kathgodam via Rudrapur. Then take the state highway to Almora via Bhimtal, Bhowali, on to Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. It takes approximately 9 and a half hours if one leaves early, at around 5 am.

By Helicopter: If you are arriving by helicopter we can organise a car pick-up from the closest landing point - inside the premises of a school which is 30 minutes away. Prior permission for landing needs to be organised. The helicopter flight takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Delhi to Almora.

By Air: Pantnagar, near Kathgodam is the closest airport. It is 155 km from the Mary Budden estate. You can hire a taxi from Pantnagar to Binsar for a four and a half hour drive through the mountains via Kathgodam.
