About Jakhu Temple

Jakhu Temple is situated on the top of Jakhu Hill which is the highest point in shimla town. Jakhu Temple is the sacred place for the Hindu community. It is located and Shimla and offers majestic view of the surrounding valleys, sno-capped peaks.

Jakhu hill is situated at a distance of 2.5 km from the Ridge at an elevation of 2,455 m above the sea level and it is the highest peak of Shimla. Jakhu temple is visited any day because it is open 7 days a week and you can visit here throughout the year. The climate remains pleasant throughout the year. The place witness snowfall during the month of December to February. We suggest you to avoid travelling here in Monsoon.

Day 1:- Arrival at Shimla and trek to Jakhu Temple

Arrival at Shimla, Check-in to the hotel and take some rest. Start your trek to Jakhu temple. You can hire horse, ponies, porter etc if you are not able to trek. The ropeway ride is also available to reach Jakhu Temple. After reaching Jakhu Temple, take some blessing from God Hanuman ji and witness the beautiful view from the top of the Jakhu hill. Trek back to Shimla. Dinner and overnight stay at Shimla.

By Rail :- Shimla railway station is th enearest railway station for Jakhu Temple trek. There are quite a good number of trains available from the cities like Delhi and Calcutta. You can take a ride of toy train as well from Kalka Railway Station. You can easily reach Shimla by hiring a private cab or using any public transport.

By Road :- Shimla is well connected with the cities like Chandigarh, Delhi, Dehradun and Kalka though roadways. You can hire taxis as well direct buses to reach Shimla.From Delhi, you can also take some luxury buses and cabs which will provide a comfortable journey.
