Chopta – Chandrashila trek is situated in Garhawal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, full of beautiful views. This is an easy trek for beginners, as well as attractive for the photographers and a specific place for devotees, accessible around the year. Chopta is a small village & basecamp of Tungnath & Chandrashilla, situated at an altitude of 2680m & well connected by roads from Chamoli district & Rudraprayag District. It is also known as mini Switzerland because of its beautiful view of meadows look alike.
Tungnath Temple is the third temple of Panch kedar circuit & highest temple of Lord Shiva in the earth at an altitude of 3400m, Bhuja (Hands) of Lord Shiva worshipped hear. Chandrashilla is a ridge with the altitude of 3600m, from there one can see the spectacular view of Himalayan range peaks like Nandadevi, Trishul, Bandrpoonch and Chaukhamba. Deoria Tal is an emerald lake perched at an elevation of 2438m above sea level. Amid early morning on a clear day, Devariya Tal blesses the tourists with reflections of Chaukhamba peaks on its crystal clear water, there are 3 routes to reach this lake from Ukhimath, From Chopta by trek, From the Sari village.
