Nainital: It is situated at a distance of 52kms from Mukteshwar at an elevation of 1,938mts above sea level. Nainital is given the epithet of “Lake District” because it dotted with five lakes Nainital, Bhimtal, Naukuchiatal, Khurpatal, Sattal. During night it feels like there’s a city underneath the stagnant water of Nainital. Nainital is an ideal destination for families, honeymooners, poets and writers, nature lovers and adventure lovers as well.

Ramgarh: Ramgarh is situated 25kms from Mukteshwar at an elevation of 1,789mts above sea level. Ramgarh is away from the hustle bustle of the city offering placid environment. Ramgarh is rich in fruit orchards and the views of the snow laden Himalayas from here are enchanting. This place was once the cantonment of the English army. The renowned poet Rabindra Nath Tagore and social worker Narain Swami had established their ashrams at Ramgarh.

Almora:The district of Almora is a picturesque place located in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. Almora is famous for its magnificent beauty, panoramic view of the Himalayas, rich cultural heritage, exquisite wildlife, unique handicrafts and delicious cuisine. The picturesque landscape of Almora attracts hundreds of tourists each year. Almora has been developed by the Chand Rajas and then maintained and further developed by the British. It is also known as the ‘Switzerland of India’ and the place has also been made famous by Swami Vivekananda who meditated in the region. Almora is situated 76kms from Mukteshwar.

Ranikhet: Ranikhet is a hill station in Almora District of Uttarakhand state. Ranikhet is also the home for Kumaon regiment and Naga regiment of Indian Army. Ranikhet offers invigorating views of the snow capped peaks of the prodigious Himalayan range. Ranikhet literally means “Queens Meadow or Queens’s field”. Ranikhet hosts a vast bio-diversity of flora and fauna. Ranikhet is situated 85kms from Mukteshwar set at an altitude of 1,869mts above sea level.

Bhimtal: It is situated at a distance of 35kms from Mukteshwar at an altitude of 1,375mts above sea level. The main attraction in Bhimtal is the Bhimtal Lake which has a small island at its centre. Bhimtal is an ancient place named after the legendary Bhima of Mahabharata when Bhima visited the place during the exile period of pandavas. Bhim tal is older than the town of Nainital and is considered as one of the best excursions of Nainital. Bhimtal is well connected with Kathgodam and all Kumaon regions and Nepal. It is an unsolved mystery but this place might have been the part of the ancient silk route of China.

Naukuchia Tal: The name literally suggests Nine-Cornered Lake. It is situated 20kms from Mukteshwar. Naukuchia Tal is set at an altitude of 1,220mts above sea level. The lake is around 1 km in length, 0.6 km in width and approximately 40m in depth. It is the deepest of the lakes in the greater Naintal area. According to myth, if one takes a glimpse of all nine corners at once, one can disappear in a cloud of smoke. Naukuchia Tal is within an enchanting valley providing ample scope for rowing, paddling and yatching. Naukuchia Tal is also famous for angling and bird watching.
