Location of Ruinsara Tal
Ruinsara Tal in Uttarakashi falls within the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary home to 150 species of birds and about 11 mammals. It is located near the source of Supin River. This gorgeous lake is just below the Banderpunch glacier.
How to reach Sankri Village (Base of Ruinsara Tal)
One can take the morning 5:30/6:00 am bus to Sankri village from Dehradun railway station. Sankri is the last village and the last road head to Govind Wildlife Sanctuary. From Sankri you can hire a taxi to reach Taluka (12 km), from where the trek to Ruinsara Tal begins. The nearest railhead and airport are at Dehradun.
