Religious Importance of Bedni Kund Lake
Bedni Kund is a popular pilgrim site for the Hindus. It serves as a sacred pilgrim place where Ma Nanda and Shiva are worshipped by the devotees. The pilgrims carry the palanquin of Ma Nanda from Bedni Kund to Roopkund during the famous Nanda Devi Raj Jaat which happens once in twelve years.

Bedni Bugyal, which is an enchanting meadow, is a popular trek among the adventure enthusiasts. Bedni Bugyal is en route to Roopkund and falls near a quaint hamlet called Wan nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas. One can relish the majestic views of the Trishul and Nanda Ghunti Peaks which are clearly visible from here. The area around the lake is blessed with nature’s abundance, Brahma Kamal or ‘Sauseurea Obyallata’ can be seen here.
Location & How to Reach Bedni Kund
Bedni Kund can be easily accessible from Lohajang Pass, which is well connected by motorable roads. The trek to Bedni Bugyal will pass through the verdant forests and tiny hamlets. From Lohajang Pass, the trek will descend for 7 km and further ascend for 4 km, finally reaching the Wan village. The hikers will have to cover a moderate trek of 9 km, which will pass through luscious rhododendron and beguiling oak forests.
