Deoban in Chakrata
Surrounded by the dense forest of Deodar trees, Deoban consists a wide species of birds and animals. Its dense Deodar forest attracts birds watching lovers to Deoban. White Collared Blackbirds and Himalayan woodpeckers are some of the birds in found here. One can also watch migratory birds in winter season in Deoban. Green meadows in between the Deodar trees presents unforgetfull picturesque moments.
The Deoban region is reserve forest and access is controlled by forest authorities, area has great variety of Flora and Fauna, region is peaceful and very green so even if it is just about 2700+ mtrs gets good amount of snow and which remains in meadows for long.
If you go just after winter and you will see some frozen lakes too. There is PWD rest house on top, which is available in approachable months, as during winter the route is not open due to heavy snowfall.
Vyas Shikar in Deoban
Motorable road is built only till Forest Rest House and after 15 min walks through dense Deodar forest one can reach 'Vyas Shikhar'. Vyas Shikhar is known to be the same place where Sage Vyas wrote the Hindu epic 'Mahabharata'. From Vyas Shikhar a series of Himalayan ranges and peaks can be seen if weather is clear.

Deoban is located in Near Chakrata ( 13 kms form Main Chakrata market. You need to hire a local jeep to reach there if you are not travelling through your private vechile).

Deoban is located at 13 km from Chakrata on State Highway 1. One can easily reach here by hiring taxi from Chakrata. Nearest rail connectivity to reach Deoban is Dehradun Railway Station (100 kms) and airport at Jolly Grant Airport (125 kms).
Note: Either you drive or take taxi, make sure its a SUV or 4x4 vehicle, as a small petrol car can struck anywhere on this secluded place.
