The Tehri Lake Festival, scheduled from March 6 to 9, will feature a range of activities including trekking expeditions across nine locations and special stargazing nights. The event aims to attract tourists seeking adventure and unique Himalayan experiences.

Visitors will also get a chance to explore the natural beauty of the Himalayas, local rural lifestyle, and various adventure activities around Tehri Lake. The festival is expected to further promote Tehri as an emerging destination for eco-tourism and cultural tourism in Uttarakhand.

A yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued by the Uttarakhand Meteorological Center in Tehri, Rudraprayag, Almora, Pauri, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar.

Hundreds of tourists flocked to Tehri Lake for boating, boosting local boat operators and traders. On Sunday, more that 500 visitors from Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Meerut, Dehradun, and Haridwar enjoyed the lake’s adventure activities. With rising temperatures in the plains, tourist footfall at Tehri Lake is growing rapidly. Local businesses are thrilled, though boat operations were briefly halted after noon due to changing weather and high waves.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the Destination Tehri Calendar 2025, themed around winter tourism, to showcase Tehri as a top destination. The calendar highlights the region's adventure sports, stunning landscapes, and spiritual sites, aiming to promote sustainable tourism and boost local economies.

There is a chance of light snowfall in elevated areas of the state, surpassing an altitude of 2500 meters. According to the weather forecast released by the Centre, a yellow alert has been issued for adverse weather conditions in Dehradun, including Tehri, Pauri, Champawat, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, and Haridwar districts tomorrow, i.e., on 21 February 2024.
