History of Chamba
Chamba was once a part of the Gorkha Kingdom which was later ruled by the kings of Garhwal Kingdom. When the name of World War I comes, Chamba also finds its mention some of the brave soldiers including Victoria Cross recipient, Gabar Singh Negi hailed from this region.
