This War memorial at Lansdowne was unveiled on 11 Nov 1923 by Lord Rawlinson of Trent, the then Commander in Chief of Indian Army. Located at the Parade Ground, this memorial is a major crowd puller of the town.
Garhwali Mess: Being one of the oldest buildings of Lansdowne, Garhwali Mess dates you back to the Victorian period. The mess was built in Jan 1888 which subsequently became the present mess in 1892. Garhwali Mess is very well maintained heritage site of Lansdowne.
It is a motivational hall inaugurated in 1983, named after Darban Singh Negi. Rare collection of Garhwal Rifles from the time of its inception can be seen at the Regimental Museum.
