Dehradun to Dehradun

Har ki Dun is a beautiful trek through the Govind National Park, which is famous for its wild flowers especially orchids. The surrounding peaks and glaciers in the Banderpoonch Range are a mountaineer's delight. The Har-ki-dun valley is famous for its flowers and meadows. The path follows the tons river from Netwar village up through the scenic villages of Gangad, Seema and Osla.

Note:  The cost is applicable for minimum 4 participants for the trek. If there are lesser number, the costing will increase accordingly.


Tour Itinerary

Day 1 : Dehradun to Giangan (via Sankri) - 8 hrs drive

Drive210 kms

We start early from Dehradun and reach Sankri village by evening. We proceed a few more kilometers to reach Giangad camping grounds. We spent the night in camps. The final 22 kms of the drive are through the Govind national park and is a very beautiful but bumpy ride.

Day 2 : Gianga to Taluka/Daatmir (5 hours)

Post breakfast we start from GIANGAD to Taluka. It is a lovely walk along the true left of the river, passing through forests, apple orchards and fields. There are many small tea shops on the way. We reach our campsite for the day near the village of TALUKA or up near the village of DATMIR. Overnight in tents.

Day 3 : Taluka/Daatmir to Seema/Osla (5 Hrs)

Post breakfast we start the day towards the village of SEEMA. The tons river is always on our left and it is a delightful walk beside it. At some places we have to cross over small streams which merge into the tons river. The village of Seema has a few small dhabas and a GMVN hotel. However the camping sites are better at OSLA, across the river, on the way to Har-ki-dun. Overnight in tents.

Day 4 : Seema/Osla to HAR-KI-DUN

We begin from our overnight camping site and cross the tons river from the stone bridge near Seema. The trail now rises higher and offers some beautiful views of the Ruinsara valley and the peaks in the Banderpoonch range. The trail ascends through the fields and climbs high above the confluence of the tons and Ruinsara gad. The camp is at the meeting point of the two valleys from Jamdar glacier and the views are excellent. In summer the route can get a bit busy. Overnight in tents.

Day 5 : Explore Har Ki Doon Valley and Back to Osla

We start the day with breakfast and spend some time to explore the nearby area. The campsite offers beautiful views of Jamdar glacier, Hata peak and the Swargarohini peak. According to Hindu mythology this is also the gateway to heaven. We return back to campsite and head back to Osla village. Overnight in tents.

Day 6 : Osla to Giangad/Sankri

Trek12 kms

Today is a long day and hence we start early. However it is an easy walk and once we reach Taluka village the final 12 kms can also be covered in a shared jeep. We spent the evening strolling around Sankri village. Overnight is in guesthouses.

Day 7 : Giangad to Dehradun

Trek12 kms

We leave Giangad and reach Dehradun by late evening.

  • All veg meals starting from day 1 dinner to day 7 breakfast. We provide hot breakfast and hot dinner. On trekking days packed lunch will be provided.

Important Information

Other Charges (If needed)

  • Personal porter support will be chargeable at 200 Rs per bag per day. Weight of 1 bag should not increase 12 kgs.
  • Any meals during the travel journey back to Dehradoon.
  • Rent for trekking shoes is Rs 200 per trekking day. The charges are applicable irrespective if the shoes are worn or not during the trek. Availability of shoes needs to be confirmed with us.
  • Rent for walking stick is Rs 50 per trekking day. The charges are applicable irrespective if the stick is used or not.

Cancellation Policy

  • Within 15 days of Arrival Date/ No Show: No Refund
  • 15 Days to 30 Days prior to Arrival: 50% of the total package cost.
  • 30 Days & More: 10% of package cost (and taxes are not refunded in any case)
  • Note: No refunds in case of Road Blocks, Accidents, etc
