Preparations are underway to promote adventure and eco-tourism in Champawat district by developing Pancheshwar as a national-level angling destination. District Magistrate Manish Kumar conducted an on-site inspection of the angling beat and directed officials to prepare a detailed roadmap for the project. The initiative aims to boost sport fishing and generate local employment opportunities.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted an on-site inspection of the Sharda Corridor project in Tanakpur and the Banbasa Land Port, calling both crucial to the state’s development.

The Sharda Corridor, aimed at improving facilities for pilgrims visiting Maa Purnagiri Dham, has been approved at a cost of ?500 crore in its first phase. Once completed, it will expand daily capacity from 2,000 to over 10,000 devotees, with upgraded pathways, rest areas, sanitation, and safety systems. The Chief Minister directed officials to maintain quality standards and ensure timely completion of the project.

Uttarakhand is set to boost theme-based tourism by developing a tourism cluster in Gunji (Pithoragarh) and offering a unique tea garden tourism experience in Champawat. The initiative aims to provide new and immersive experiences for visitors to the state.

The project is being implemented under the Swadesh Darshan Yojana of the central government, which focuses on developing tourist destinations in line with international standards.

Tempo Travellers will be operated in Chardham Yatra route, Kumbh area of Haridwar, Mussoorie, Nainital, Champawat, Auli. Currently, the corporation has only ordinary buses available on the hilly areas and Chardham Yatra routes. The operation of these Tempo Travellers will soon be started in various hill districts.

For the convenience of passengers, the Transport Corporation has purchased 20 Tempo Travellers, whose online booking will be started soon. Passengers will be able to get information about time, fare and booking on the corporation's website and mobile app.

A yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued by the Uttarakhand Meteorological Center in Tehri, Rudraprayag, Almora, Pauri, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar.

Under the UDAAN Scheme, Uttarakhand Government has started Helicopter Services from Haldwani to Pithoragarh, Munsiyari & Champawat from 22 Feb 2024. Heli Services from Haldwani will be available from Gaulapar Helipad to Pithoragarh, Munsiyari & Champawat.

A seven seater helicopter will operated by Air Heritage fly 2 times a day from Haldwani to each destination. The ticket price for helicopter service from Haldwani will be INR 2500 per person for Champawat, INR 3000 for Pithoragarh and INR 3500 for Munsiyari.
